Along the way, runners pass the Segerstrom Arts Center, South Shore Plaza, and Segerstrom High School Campus. Half-marathon runners follow the same route as those running the full marathon for most of the race. They start on the road that surrounds the Fashion Island shopping center in Newport Beach and head to the Corona del Mar neighborhood. From there, they travel through Mesa Verde in Costa Mesa and then the “Bird Streets”, providing them with much needed support in the final stretch to the OC Fair & Events Center.
